Greenberg Traurig is seeking a mid-to-senior level associate for its Tax-Exempt Organizations & Philanthropy practice. Qualified candidates will have significant experience advising private foundations and charitable organizations on complex legal and tax issues.
Our attorneys work with tax-exempt organizations, family offices, and high-net-worth donors nationwide to:
Form and obtain tax exemption for nonprofit corporations and charitable trusts.
Advise private foundations on grant agreements, tax compliance, and succession planning.
Advise philanthropists making charitable gifts and utilizing donor-advised funds.
Advise large 501(c)(3) organizations on corporate governance, tax exemption issues, and UBTI.
Structure mergers, affiliations, and joint ventures of nonprofits.
Advise on complex structures involving both for-profit and not-for-profit entities.
Represent tax-exempt organizations in federal and state audits on tax and charitable issues.
This associate will have the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with highly demanding clients engaged in major charitable projects. The successful candidate will work directly with GT’s Chair of Tax-Exempt Organizations and Philanthropy, and may work from any of the firm’s 34 U.S. offices.
The expected pay range for this position is:
$250,000-$400,000
Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, short term disability, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401K, vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program. Additional voluntary programs include: voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, voluntary critical illness and cancer insurance and pet insurance. Commuter and Transit programs may also be available in certain markets.
