About the Role
AESC is a global leader in advanced lithium-ion battery technology, dedicated to creating a sustainable future through innovative energy storage solutions. Our cutting-edge products power electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, and various other applications worldwide. As AESC ramps up new battery manufacturing facilities across the Southeastern United States to meet rising demand from automotive OEM partners, we are expanding our local engineering teams to support smooth plant launches.
The Lead Industrial Engineer will play a critical role in developing efficient production line designs and equipment layouts for the new facilities. You will collaborate closely with project teams and engineering groups across the region and globe to optimize plant floor plans and processes for maximum throughput, yield, and quality. This role reports to the US region of the Global Industrialization Development team and focuses on the planning, design and start up of our new Giga Factories within the US.
Leveraging extensive battery production experience, you will conduct engineering analysis to balance equipment capabilities with manufacturing objectives. Your technical contributions will help avoid bottlenecks, reduce downtime, and ensure smooth production ramps.
As a hands-on key project functional, you will help coordinate the on-site engineering organization during equipment installation, integration, testing, and process validation. This position will coordinate cross functional project planning, design and launch activities including design gathering design inputs from process equipment to building construction teams, taking full ownership of the building and process layout design and act as the central technical coordinator during project execution phases.

What You Will Do
- Ownership of Giga Factory Campus Layouts - Key point of contact between global and U.S. teams, facilitating clear communication, with focus on new plant development team.
- Collaborate with the global engineering center (GEC) project team to optimize equipment layout for maximum efficiency. (i.e., production volume capacity planning, labor planning, CAD layout management)
- Collaborate with SCM for Material Flow and logistics Planning, including inbound and outbound yards
- TUM (Technical Utility Matrix) Data and Input management Coordination of operation spaces including labs, and maintenance areas
- Responsible for modeling and simulation of battery production systems.
- Manage equipment logistics planning with Chinese vendors, from shipping through installation.
- Support and plan equipment integration with the facility team.
- Oversee production ramp up and provide ongoing monitoring.
What You Need
- 5+ years of industrial engineering experience, expert knowledge of battery plant production and operations
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related engineering field and experience required.
