JOB TITLE: Interim Manager of Community Programs

REPORTS TO: Director of Access & Engagement  

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday (9:00am-5:30pm), Some weekends

LOCATION: Venice, CA

STATUS: Full-Time, 40 hrs/wk, Exempt

CELL PHONE: Reimbursement for use

SALARY: $65,000-$69,999 Annually

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Interim Manager of Community Programs will oversee SPY’s workforce development endeavors by providing management and supervision for the Education & Employment Program, Garden Program, Social Enterprise, and SPY Squad. In partnership with the Director of Access Center and Empowerment Programs, the manager will also ensure consistent and developmentally appropriate programming and opportunities exist for youth members of SPY with special attention to youth employability and retention.


WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Oversee growth and development of the Education & Employment program, Community Garden program, Social Enterprise, and SPY Squad.
  • Provide trauma and resiliency informed leadership and weekly supervision for staff members
  • Ensure that all Education & Employment, SPY Community Garden services, and SPY Squad Social Enterprise are delivered in a strengths-based, trauma-informed, harm-reduction approach
  • Oversee and facilitate progress towards annual goals and outcomes
  • Manage on- and off-site partnerships with external agencies to support effective programming and referral processes
  • Work collaboratively across internal departments and with community partners
  • Advocate by attending external community meetings with government agencies and community groups
  • Develop strategic partnerships to support program goals
  • Oversee development and structure of education and life skill programming specific to job readiness and preparation
  • Market, develop, outreach and cultivate job and/or internship partnership opportunities
  • Manage Education & Employment budget and contracts
  • Manage Community Garden budget and contracts
  • Manage Spy Squad budget, youth payment, and contracts
  • Manage Social Enterprise budget and contracts
  • Oversee data collection through Civicore and HMIS across Education & Employment, SPY Squad, SPY Community Garden, and Social Enterprise programs
  • Prepare monthly reports, funding reports, and other program administrative duties
  • Support with grant writing, as needed
  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings, team meetings and other community meetings, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned to support the organization's missions and goals.


Requirements

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology Psychology, or any related field is preferred.
  • 2-5 years experience in a social service setting, working with homeless or at-risk youth is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an education or employment services environment
  • 2+ years experience in social service setting, experience with youth preferred
  • 2+ years experience in a supervisory role preferred
  • Working knowledge of trauma-informed and harm-reduction service models
  • Cultural humility and responsiveness
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge
