Job Description
NBCUniversal Local's centralized on-air graphics team, The Arthouse, is seeking a talented motion designer with a broadcast design background. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional design and leadership skills, capable of handling both individual daily assignments and collaborative long-term projects. The Arthouse supports NBCUniversal Local NBC and Telemundo news stations across the country.
As a Senior Designer at the Arthouse, your day will involve creating both still and animated news graphics under daily deadlines while also managing long-term projects independently. You'll follow internal workflows, standard operating procedures, and our existing order management systems to ensure efficient delivery. Strong time management and problem-solving skills will be essential as you collaborate with the internal team and show producers when needed. Taking feedback constructively, you'll have opportunities to grow your skill set through collaborating with the team, self-initiated training and development resources.
This is a Monday - Friday nightside shift.
Responsibilities:
- Interaction with stations’ producers is encouraged
- Identifying and solving design challenges to enhance project outcomes
- Leverage advanced motion design skills to produce innovative and captivating visuals
- Work with the entire team to maintain established design standards and brands
- Provide timely & accurate graphic delivery to our partners
- Receptive of art direction and feedback from leadership
Qualifications
- At least 6 years’ experience with Adobe After Effects
- Minimum 4 years’ experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- Must provide still and motion examples of work
- Flexibility in schedules and assignments for this 24/7-365 industry
- Must be able to work nights and weekends
- Willing and able to work in Fort Worth, Texas (just south of DFW Airport)
- Must be 18 years or greater
- A self-starter with the ability to multitask, and works well in a collaborative, team environment
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Must accept Solutions as NBCUniversal’s Alternative Dispute Resolution program
Desired Skills:
- Bilingual in Spanish/English
- Experience with Cinema 4D
- Experience in AE Scripting and Java
- Strong communication skills and a dedicated, customer-focused approach to servicing a large, deadline-driven client base
- Demonstrate solid creative skills and the ability to take art direction
- Map software knowledge, Google Maps/ Ross XPression
- Production experience with a company and/or news station is a plus
