Senior Data Platform Product Manager

We Are:
Apella is applying computer vision, machine learning and NLP to improve the standard of care in the most critical aspect of healthcare; surgery. We build applications to enable surgeons, nurses, and hospital administrators to deliver the highest quality care.We are building our product management team and we need brave people who are not afraid to jump in and work on unfamiliar systems and improve them. Our product team will work with the founders, clinical advisors, early customers, software engineers and designers to create and execute our product roadmap

You are:

• You are an experienced technical/platform product management professional who wants to create products in a new category.
• You want to work in healthcare so you can make a difference. 
• You are an integrative thinker who likes to integrate product roadmaps, technical roadmaps and research and development goals to create a machine learning platform that empowers Apella to envision new products and find product-market fit
• You enjoy working directly with engineers to ship great products.
• Passionate about creating technology solutions that help solve real-world user and buyer problems.

You have:

• 7+ years experience as a software product manager, engineering leader or machine learning engineer and a minimum of 2 years in a product management role.
• Experience with the full ML product lifecycle: including ideation, data collection, experimental design, and bringing models to production at scale.
• Strong analytical skills (Data preparation: SQL, Data visualization: Excel/Jupyter).
• Excellent technical fluency in the areas of machine learning and data science as applied to product development.
• Experience building and shipping applications or software within a large-scale, ambiguous domain.
• Extra points for people with experience in healthcare tech

• Work with the CTO and Product teams to identify opportunities and refine ML platform vision.
• Incorporate data, research and market analysis to keep the company ahead of the competition.
• Work with a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers to define, prioritize and execute a platform roadmap that balances research and development, direct product applications and customer projects.
• Collaborate with clinical, annotations and economics teams to guide experimentation and engineering towards clinically and business relevant problem spaces.
