RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Follow up on the APQP process as part of the launch of new products.
- Coordinate technical reviews and develop supplier capabilities to meet BorgWarner requirements.
- Develop supplier resources to meet BW requirements.
- Conduct quality training for suppliers.
- Coordinate performance improvement actions for suppliers to achieve established goals.
- Coordinate the resolution of technical problems at the supplier.
- Follow established procedures and work to identify best practices.
- Review work performed according to technical opinion, analyzing the overall situation against predefined goals.
- Participate in the definition of commodity strategy.
- Drive process improvements.
- Comply with environmental, energy efficiency, occupational health and safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Comply with organizational rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, practice, and schedule.
- Respect safety and cleanliness rules at the workplace.
- Respect and comply with Environmental Management Policy, Energy Efficiency, Occupational Health and Safety rules.
- Actively participate in the continuous improvement of Environmental Management Policy, Energy Efficiency, Occupational Health and Safety.
- Efficiently use different energy sources, adopting practices that promote energy consumption reduction and responsible use of resources, according to the SGE Policy.
- Perform other tasks not included in the activity for which you were hired, when service needs or convenience justify it, for the necessary period of time.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, Master's degree (preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in Quality and/or Process Engineering in the automotive industry or related fields.
- Knowledge in manufacturing problem-solving (8-D Methodology) and necessary manufacturing processes with emphasis on Six Sigma methods (DMAIC).
- Knowledge of QS-9001 / IATF 16949 requirements, including APQP and PPAP.
- Knowledge of SPC.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Lotus Notes, Minitab, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and/or concrete variables.
- Good English language skills (spoken and written).
