Warehouse Associate

Description

Job Summary: 

The Warehouse Associate position will stock, gather, distribute, assembles orders, and loads various  products of the warehouse to fulfill customer orders for pickup and/or delivery.  

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

None 

Essential Job Functions: 

? Safely move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading  docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other  equipment. 

? Reads customer order, shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered,  or distributed 

? Loads and unloads trucks 

? Sorts and places items on racks according to predetermined sequence 

? Operates fork lift truck or hand truck to move or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving  platform to warehouse storage or work area 

? Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders  to shipping department 

? Drives diesel or gasoline powered industrial trucks equipped with lifting devices such as forklift  to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials 

? Performs other duties as required 

Requirements

Required Skills and Abilities: 

? Seeks to learn products and the applications 

? Knows product locations in yard and warehouse 

? Ability to read a measuring tape 

? Keeps forklift clean 

? Maintain yard cleanliness during course of work Safety Requirements: 

? Wears high visibility, safety PPE, and proper uniform 

? Performs daily lift inspections 

? Always looks behind/honks horn when backing/rounding blind corners 

? Safely operates equipment 

? Promptly report all accidents/incidents and damaged products 

? Perform daily safety audit of forklift and promptly report any malfunctioning equipment 

? Keep aisles and exits clear 

? Participates on safety committee if needed
