Assists with the day-to-day supervisory responsibilities for clinical office staff, which provide clerical/clinical support for department/division.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists with supervisory clerical/clinical staff, including efficient workflow and adequate coverage.
- Ensures equipment is maintained adequately.
- Requests and monitors medical and clerical supplies.
- Assists with interviewing, screening applicants and orients new staff.
- Prepares various schedules, literature searches and requests journal articles and retrieves books for physicians.
- Arranges meetings and assists with maintaining office policies.
- Performs secretarial duties, such as typing, medical transcription, filing, and routing telephone calls.
- Schedules patient appointments when needed.
- May assist with budgets or reporting.
- Assists with evaluations, recommendations and or disciplinary actions for personnel supervised.

Required Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant certification/registration-eligible graduate or be scheduled to graduate from an accredited medical assistant program; substitutions include graduate of an accredited nursing program (such as RN/LPN). Ability to show proof of a Medical Assistant registration/certification or complete Medical Assistant registration/certification within six months of hire date (or within a shorter time frame if noted by hiring manager). Medical Assistant credentials must be obtained from in-person proctored exams from the following certifying bodies: NHA, AAMA or AMT. In-person proctored credentials from other certifying bodies may be accepted upon approval from Human Resources. Online proctored exams are not sufficient to meet the credential requirement.
- Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
- Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
