About the role

Summary

This full-time Assistant Professor of Psychology teaches undergraduate and graduate courses; provides academic advising and mentoring to undergraduate and graduate students, including supervision of undergraduate research, graduate capstone and master’s research; contributes to departmental, college, university and professional service; and engages in sustained scholarship.  The Associate Director of the MS in Clinical Psychology program collaborates closely with the Program Director to maintain and enhance MPCAC accreditation standards.

This is an In-Person position.

Essential Functions

  • Teach a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses related to clinical psychology, include theories of personality, abnormal psychology, tests and measurements, clinical psychology, psychological assessment, and within a cognitive-behavioral framework, individual, group, and family therapy, and provide clinical supervision. 

  • Additional responsibilities include academic advising to undergraduate and graduate students, supervision of undergraduate research, supervision of master’s research, departmental service, university service, community service, and sustained scholarship.

  • The role of Associate Director involves overseeing student academic and professional development, particularly through establishing clinical internships.

  • Additionally, the Associate Director engages with community and professional organizations to build partnerships that enhance the program’s reputation while contributing to curriculum development and program assessment.

  • Responsibilities also include representing the program at official functions and serving as a faculty advisor.

Requirements/ Qualifications

  • PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology from an APA approved program with evidence of competence to supervise empirical or non-empirical research, a license, or eligibility for a license, as a psychologist in the state of Florida, undergraduate and graduate teaching experience, and research experience.
