Position Description 

 

The Manager, Clinical and Commercial Enablement is a critical member of Carlsmed’s professional education team, reporting to the Vice President, Professional Education. This position collaborates with Professional Education peers, Commercial Leaders, and other key functions to deliver clinical support and field-based training to: distribution partners, surgeons, healthcare staff (office and OR) and the direct Carlsmed Commercial Team (AVP, SD, AM) to ensure appropriate clinical utilization, adoption, and understanding of Carlsmed Technology Platform.   

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Provide clinical and technical support to surgeons, distribution partners, and the direct Carlsmed commercial team throughout the initial CORE case series (pre, intra, and postoperative phases). 
  • Independently support Carlsmed procedures in operating rooms to ensure a smooth handoff to the distribution partners, enabling them to fully support all Carlsmed procedures upon completion of onboarding and training requirements. 
  • Document all field interactions with surgeons, sales teams, and partners in Carlsmed systems, including the Digital Production System (DPS) and CRM.  
  • Collaborate with Sales Training to create and deliver field-based training and continued education, both in person and virtually, to the direct Carlsmed commercial team and distribution partners on all Carlsmed technologies and workflows.   
  • Support Sales Training and commercial leader onboarding new sales agents, surgeon customers, and healthcare institutions to ensure seamless integration of Carlsmed technology into clinical workflows.  

 

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of advanced training programs focused on customer segmentation, proceduralization, and clinical adoption.  
  • Provide structured field feedback and proper documentation to product marketing, regulatory, quality, professional education, and sales training teams during Alpha, Beta and initial case series. 
  • Collaborate with product marketing, Professional Education peers, and cross functional teams to develop surgeon education resources, sales training content, and comprehensive field launch and prelaunch materials, ensuring field training readiness and alignment with upstream and downstream marketing initiatives. 
  • Lead monthly postoperative case debrief discussions with commercial, planning, and product development teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.  
  • Provide technical insight and feedback to case designers to support the development of patient-specific surgical plans and devices.  
  • Serve as a conduit for real-time market insights, helping marketing teams adjust strategies based on field performance and surgeon needs. 

 

Qualifications 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.   
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in orthopedic/neurosurgical sales and service. 
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of Operating Room technical support for spinal fusion surgery.   
  • Able to evaluate problems and find appropriate solutions to support surgeries and cases.
