The staff ratio is 1:2 Phase I pediatric patients or up to 3 Phase II patients. Pediatric patients are taken direct to the PACU after anesthesia from the operating room, cardiac cath lab, and other non-operating room areas. Neonatal intensive and progressive care patients do not recover in LCH PACU.  This area operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Currently, LCH is ranked as the #1 children’s hospital in North Carolina and tied for #1 in the southeastern United States.
