General Studies Teacher Math / Science

The Birch Agency is looking for an in- person mathematics teacher to support 7th grade students for the upcoming school year which is August 21, 2023- June 13, 2024.

We are looking for two teachersthat holding a valid Pennsylvania General Science certificate or Math Certification is qualified to teach all general courses in grades 7 through 12. An educator holding this certificate is also qualified to teach this content in the 6th grade.

Prepares and delivers interactive lesson plans to help all learners understand and apply universal concepts in science and help each student to solve problems and understand various theories and facts established by great scientists.

Understands and develops learning goals according state and national science standards, and administers assessments.

Implements progress monitoring, differentiated instruction, lesson planning, and using a variety of assessments to meet the academic needs of all learners.

Assesses, records, and reports on the development, progress, attainment, academic and social needs of students.

Maintains written lesson plans, identifying clear objectives for all lessons, and submits for administrative review and approval as required.

Provides oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual students or groups of students.

Promotes the general progress and well-being of individual students, groups of students or class.

Communicates, consults and cooperates with other members of the school staff, including those having posts of special responsibility, parents and guardians to ensure the best interest of students.

Possesses excellent time management, classroom management procedures and routines.

Collaborates with fellow teachers, administrators, support staff, and parents to ensure the academic and social success of students.

Plans and implements a math program of study employing instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting school and district goals and objectives.

Creates a classroom and school environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.

Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct and develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.

Maintain and improve professional competence.

Attend meetings and serve on committees.

Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the principal or administrative designee.
