About the role

The Enterprise Security Architect (ESA) is responsible for understanding security industry trends, customer security needs, security compliance as it relates to technology and architecture, collaborating on security architecture, and is a customer-facing resource for Coretek Security Services. The Enterprise Security Architect is an internal leader for the Security practice and collaborates with senior engineers, business stake holders, customers, and technology partners to assess opportunities for new technology, update or new managed security services, processes, or enhancements to existing platforms and managed security services. As a senior resource, the ESA is responsible for creating the detailed operationalization guidelines, architectures, and statement of work language of the updated or new security services. The Enterprise Security Architect is also a customer facing industry subject matter expert in security trends, architecture, technology, as well the Coretek services capable of fulfilling customer needs.


Essential Job Functions

  • Provide senior architecture and operational security advisory to Coretek and it’s customers.
  • Act as security evangelist and advisor to senior leadership, product management, customers, and at industry events.
  • Architect security ecosystem and provide security advisory for the operational ecosystem and set security standards, policies, and baselines for Coretek and Coretek’s Managed Services.
  • Architect and guide senior technology resource for security platforms, procedures, and actively help in development of staff for managing and maintaining security systems across internal and client environments.
  • High proficiency in Endpoint/server security, firewalls/network perimeter security, cloud networking & security, and identity-based security.
  • Understanding or experience in security operations, investigations, incident response, or digital forensics.
  • Lead the development of and support enforcement of system policy, procedures, baselines, and standards for security and operational platforms to provide security and privacy validated designs.
  • Continuously identify and develop security and productivity-enhancing improvements through technology, architecture, automation, better procedures, and other innovations
  • Guide the architecture for the integration of security systems into the Coretek ticketing / SOAR systems for automation.
  • Develop, plan, and assist the PMO/Technology team in their migration strategies including “rip and replace” of existing solutions.
  • Serve as an expert to the organization on operational security and vulnerabilities and risks.
  • Continuously research and learn about additional security technology solutions which may not be currently in use at Coretek.
  • Serve as a security senior practitioner/advisor, as needed, for escalations, incidents, and other security initiatives.

Requirements

  • For this position, senior level experience in IT and security is important but not the deciding factor. Breadth of experience, entrepreneurial drive, and the architect mindset with the ability to design, educate, communicate, and lead are more important than years in the business.
  • Knowledge and experience in leading a security practice, designing multifaceted and secure by design architectures, being a lead security architecture at a service provider, industry security evangelist, or other security or entrepreneurial ventures.
  • Experience with hybrid/public cloud strategy is required.
  • MSP/MSSP experience strongly desired.
  • Senior level experience with platforms such as offered by Palo Alto, Microsoft, Fortinet, Trend Micro, Proofpoint, Tenable, Qualys, or other similar platforms.
  • Must be able to provide guidance on architecture and design, data flows, data model, Server/ endpoint configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of common scripting tools, PowerShell, Python, Bash a plus
  • Strong, in-depth analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in a wide range of security tools
  • Industry Certifications including vendor certifications are a plus
  • Good organizational and project management skills
  • Team player able to lead a small project team when required and work independently.
  • Ability to effectively interact with other IT Services professionals and communicate clearly with native and non-native English speakers.
