Manager II, Quality Inspection

Overview
We are currently seeking a Quality Manager for our Park City, UT location that will be focused on Inspection and Continuous Improvement.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is able to work with minimal direction, has strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, and has the ability to successfully collaborate across multiple functions.
The Quality Manager will lead all aspects of the Inspection team, developing and implementing a vision to ensure all customer and regulatory requirements are met and that the Inspection processes are continually improving in efficiency and quality. The Quality Manager will act as the liaison between the Inspection team and the site leadership and other functions. The Quality Manager will also act as a Continuous Improvement leader for the Park City facility, driving improvements across all areas of the business and at all levels.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day to day activities of the Gear Inspection, Housing Inspection, Final Inspection, and Receiving Inspection teams, adjusting headcount as necessary to support the business
- Daily collaboration with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, test, and manufacturing to ensure high quality product is delivered to our customers on time
- Lead the team with daily Metric Tier meetings to ensure production issues are escalated appropriately
- Manage the performance of the team, including development actions to further individual’s capabilities and eliminate single point failures
- Work with other functions to identify defect trends and take actions to reduce/eliminate the defects
- Manage the Verification In Process procedure, updating it as necessary to improve efficiency in the shop and ensure a solid feedback loop is in place to improve throughput
- Manage the Inspection process, issuing and controlling stamps and ensuring individuals are qualified to accept product
- Champions operational excellence by leading the transformation, education and culture change in all departments
- Leads process improvements that meet business needs, manages complex issues within functional areas of expertise, becomes involved in long-term strategic and operational planning, and contribute to the overall performance of the business

- Leads projects, utilizing Kaizen, Lean and Six Sigma tools to drive improvements in all facets of the operations
- Provides event follow-up to monitor the progress of planned improvement implementation to assure timely action, appropriate support, and achievement of expected tangible benefits
- Uses appropriate measurement, analysis, and evaluation methods to accurately identify and document improvements.
- Coaches and develops a problem-solving culture at all levels of the organization; implements permanent corrective actions to mitigate probability of reoccurrence
- Serves as a consulting and teaching resource for implementing new methods and processes
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM)
- 3+ years of relevant work experience
- Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
- AS9100 experience
- AS9102 First Article Inspection experience
- Compliance and Regulatory experience
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with an organization at all levels
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Demonstrated work ethic
- Ability to take the initiative to become involved in activities to help resolve problems and make improvements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Working knowledge of Inspection methodologies and tools (CMM, Faro, calipers, micrometers, etc)
- Full working knowledge of Lean Concepts with demonstrated success
- Comfortable facilitating Lean events and coaching others in Lean methodologies
- Proven record of implementing and inspiring continuous improvement culture in an organization
- Ability to build teams and influence outcomes without direct line of control
- Proven ability to develop teams and train others in new ways of doing things
- Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- US Citizen or a US Permanent Resident
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or MBA
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Lean / Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
- AS13100 knowledge/experience
- AS9162 (Operator Self-Verification) knowledge/experience
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Trained
