Summary of Role:
The Associate, REW Operations, role is responsible for operational support of programs of the Weill Music Institute (WMI) and Ensemble Connect within the Resnick Education Wing (REW) of Carnegie Hall, serving as the primary point of contact for the programs they support. This position also provides operational support for large-scale banquet space events and designated Carnegie Hall partner organizations.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
• Manage logistics of various WMI and Ensemble Connect events in the Weill Music Room, ensemble rooms, and studios, in collaboration with WMI Education Production and Ensemble Connect staff.
o Lead weekly production meetings with WMI and Ensemble Connect staff.
o Communicate operational needs for events to Building Services and Security.
o Manage Local 1 IATSE stagehands during assigned WMI and Ensemble Connect events.
• Oversee Front of House operations for select public and private events in the Weill Music Room.
• Manage the equipment inventory of the REW, including percussion, AV equipment, and other resources, making necessary updates to internal documents and tracking items in need of repair or replacement.
• Provide operational support of banquet space activity in the REW, in collaboration with Carnegie Hall’s Event Services team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Associate Director, REW Operations, and Senior Director, Hall Operations.
• Obtain and maintain F-03 Certificate of Fitness, issued by the FDNY.
Special Skills Preferred:
• Strong critical thinking skills, with the capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
• Minimum of three years of experience in venue or event management, ideally with IATSE Local 1 stagehands.
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint).
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, as needed. The primary schedule for this position is Monday (1:30-9:30pm) and Tuesday-Friday (11:00am-7:00pm), subject to change based on activity.
• Experience with Artifax, Tessitura, Eptura Visitor, and DocuSign preferred.
