Per Diem Clinical Registered Dietitian – Inpatient

Metz Culinary Management is seeking a per diem Clinical Registered Dietitian to support inpatient nutrition services at UMass Memorial Health - Milford Regional Medical Center, with a primary focus on weekend coverage. This role is ideal for an RD who is comfortable working independently in an acute care setting and who is looking for flexible per diem hours.

The per diem RD will be responsible for managing a full inpatient caseload on assigned shifts, completing timely nutrition assessments and follow-ups, providing appropriate patient education, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team. Strong clinical judgment, efficiency, and clear documentation skills are essential, as this role functions with a high level of autonomy once oriented.

This position plays a critical role in supporting continuity of patient care while helping maintain a sustainable workload for the inpatient RD team.

Schedule & Coverage Expectations

• Primarily weekend coverage

• Occasional holiday coverage

• Shifts are scheduled in advance

• There may be opportunities for additional hours later this year to help cover a planned maternity leave, depending on availability and interest

Ideal Candidate

• Comfortable managing an inpatient caseload independently

• Strong clinical judgment, time management, and documentation skills

• Open to both experienced RDs and new graduates who are newly credentialed

• Reliable, organized, and adaptable in a fast-paced acute care environment

Compensation

• $30–$42 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Requirements:

• BS Degree in Food Service Management, Nutrition, or Dietetics
• Registered Dietitian
• Licensed RD
• Experience in a Contract Dining facility setting preferred
• Electronic Medical Records
• Nutrition Education
