Responsibilities:
Consults on Operations & Technology business unit strategy
Partners with the Operations & Technology business unit heads to support:
Human Resources, to ensure resource strategy aligns with capabilities, workforce strategy, and location strategy
Internal customers (employees and business units), to streamline business processes and break down barriers to align to business priorities, leverage automation, gain efficiencies, and enable an entrepreneurial business
Site optimization, to align business unit space requirements with firm/Operations & Technology strategy
Provides strategic guidance and advisory services to business unit heads
Partners with project management office to align business unit strategy with annual appropriations and midterm business plan submissions
Oversees Operations & Technology business unit financial plan and cost controls
Develops strategies for the Operations & Technology business unit to increase the company's bottom line
Works with business unit and business unit finance team to monitor and control financial spend
Works with financial management to create a cohesive product and service strategy along with pricing trajectory (IT product catalog)
Serves as the primary point-of-contact for third-party vendor strategy
Partners with sourcing to build and maintain comprehensive and accessible books of record for all technology suppliers and supplier delivery commitments (internal / external)
Provides clear insight into vendor spend, maintenance renewals, and other outside costs for the vendor operations team to execute
Engages in key stakeholder communications, stakeholder governance routines, leadership meetings, and management routines
Manages the collection of Operations & Technology business unit information for governance and management routines and ensures that deliverables are met on time
Qualifications:
6-8 years' experience
Preferred experience: previous work at a financial services firm or within a technology or operations division within a firm
Strong skills in risk assessment analysis and a solid understanding of business and financial markets
Strong knowledge of the inherent risk in the business line
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and an ability to interact with all levels of management
Ability to analyze risk trends, identifying, and project signs of changing risk levels
Deep understanding of respective business area
Solid understanding and planning skills in all aspects of the system's/business project life-cycle, i.e., enhancements, user requirements, application configuration and usage using MS Project as the project planning tool
Demonstrated track record of delivering positive results in project work, including high quality implementations, cost savings, additional revenue, within time and budgetary constraints
