The University of Washington’s Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Division of Rehabilitation Psychology & Neuropsychology, is seeking a clinical psychologist to join our faculty. This will be a full-time academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor without tenure (WOT) due to source of funding, which is typical of ranked faculty appointments within the department. Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. 

Anticipated start date is Winter 2025, subject to timely approvals and credentialing, but other dates may be considered.

As a member of the Division of Rehabilitation Psychology & Neuropsychology, the successful candidate will participate in clinical, teaching, research, and scholarship and will be expected to fulfill requirements for advancement along the Clinician-Educator pathway of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, University of Washington School of Medicine. The successful candidate will have opportunity to collaborate with existing research teams, as well as to develop their own research portfolio.

Clinical duties will include inpatient rehabilitation and consult services as well as outpatient coverage as needed for CORP and Peripheral Nerve Clinic at Harborview Medical Center, providing direct clinical services to individuals referred for rehabilitation psychology services to manage behavioral health issues including mental health diagnoses (e.g., depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder), health conditions (e.g., pain, cognition), engagement in medical treatment (e.g., motivation, behavioral change) and provide psychoeducation related to diagnosis/treatment impacts on health and wellbeing. The selected candidate will also participate in research with a focus on qualitative evaluation and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Duties also include supervision of psychology predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees within our APA-accredited internship and fellowship programs, as well as lectures at the graduate/medical school level.

Sites of practice for this position’s clinical duties are primarily at Harborview Medical Center but may also include some clinical activities at the University of Washington Medical Center Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake). Opportunities for mentorship, professional development, career growth, and leadership are available, as well as the opportunity to assist in the development of new and expanding programs to address clinical demand.

The individual hired for this position will work with marginalized and culturally diverse communities and with trainees holding a range of worldviews.

COMPENSATION

The base salary range for this position will be $10,276 - $11,136 per month ($123,312 - $133,632 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Other compensation associated with this position may include any of the following: incentive through UW Physicians (UWP), moving allowance, relocation incentive.
