ABOUT THE JOB

As a Director of Physical Security you will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of safeguarding our physical assets, personnel, intellectual property, and critical national security information and material. In this executive, high-stake role, you will develop and oversee the implementation of comprehensive security protocols consistent with the highest defense industry standards. Your expertise will directly contribute to the protection of sensitive materials and technologies that are vital to national security. You will lead a dedicated team of security professionals, ensuring they are well-trained and equipped to handle an array of security challenges. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will continuously assess and mitigate risks, manage crisis situations, and ensure compliance with all government regulations. Your strategic vision will be key in evolving our physical security posture in a landscape marked by sophisticated threats. You will fully develop, mature, and perfect our established security programs to include, but not limited to executive protection, crisis management, Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), travel security, security systems infrastructure, guard operations, protective intelligence, investigations, and security awareness. We are looking for a decisive, proactive leader who can fully move our programs forward at speed.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive physical security strategies and policies.
  • Manage the daily operations of security personnel, including hiring, training, and supervision.
  • Conduct risk assessments and security audits, and recommend enhancements to improve security.
  • Liaise with government agencies to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the management of access control systems and surveillance technology.
  • Develop emergency response and crisis management plans, conducting regular drills and training.
  • Collaborate with IT security to ensure a cohesive approach to overall company security.
  • Coordinate security efforts during high-profile events and visits to company facilities.
  • Develop and implement a robust executive protection program, ensuring the safety and security of company leadership during both routine operations and high-risk scenarios.
  • Ensure the GSOC operates effectively, maintaining global situational awareness and enabling rapid incident response and decision-making.
  • Manage budget and resources for security infrastructure and personnel.
  • Foster relationships with local law enforcement and emergency services.
  • Prepare regular reports for executive management on security status and incident response.
  • Keep abreast of the latest security trends and technologies, implementing innovative solutions as appropriate.

Requested Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in physical security, preferably in a defense or high-security environment.
  • Strong understanding of physical security principles, access control systems, and surveillance technology.
  • Experience in managing a team of security professionals and interfacing with executive leadership.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing security policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations affecting defense industry security.
  • Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to respond effectively to high-pressure situations.
  • Experience in managing security at multiple facilities, including international locations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field.
  • Eligibility for security clearance at the required level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a related field.
  • Professional security certification (e.g., CPP, PSP, PCI from ASIS International).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and practices.
  • Previous experience working with defense contracts and understanding of ITAR and EAR regu
