Job Description:
The PHEP Coordinator will:
- Participate in Division of Public Health’s response to disasters, highly contagious diseases, and threats to the public health of Nebraska. This is in conjunction with the team, assuring coverage of Emergency Coordination Center roles.
- Assure communication with Local Health Departments to support local response activities.
- Travel to Local Health Departments across the state for program monitoring and to annual national conference.
- Monitor and track all grant expenses assuring compliance with federal regulations.
- Facilitate Community of Practices.
- Create and submit reports to our federal partners relating to work plan and fiscal activities.
- Complete and manage all subawards related to federal funding sources.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and present annual seminar for sub-awardees.
Work Environment and Travel:
This position requires approximately 95% of work time spent in an office environment; the remainder is spent traveling or working in alternative sites such as off-site storage, conferences or meetings. There is also approximately 5 days of overnight travel per year.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Epidemiology, Informatics, or Health field plus 4 years of experience working in data analysis, statistics, & interpretation of data in a health subject area OR Master’s Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Epidemiology, Informatics, or Health field plus 2 years of related experience. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Public Health, Public Administration or related fields. Experience in Emergency Management, Public Health Emergency Response, or Grant Management.
Other: Must have a valid driver's license. Must have or can complete FEMA ICS training within 6 months of hire: ICS100, 200, 700, 800, 300 and 400.
