Security Officer

The Security Officer assists in the management of patient, visitor, and employee traffic thereby providing a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

 

Due to the potential complexity in the security field and the need to protect FMC visitors, patients, and staff, the following job qualifications and physical requirements are established:

A. Education
1. High school diploma or GED from an accredited institute required
2. Must be at least 21 years old

 

B. Experience
1. Prior experience in successfully dealing with the public
2. Two years of experience as a security officer or prior service in the U.S. Armed Forces preferred
3. Maintains competency in the technical skills relative to the implementation of safety and security policies

C. Licensure/Certification
1. Valid Georgia driver's license with a clean driving record
2. Must complete BLS- Basic Life Saving, CPI- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, and the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety Basic Officer certifications within 1 year of employment

 

Atrium Health Floyd is a system of health care providers serving Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama since 1942. Located in Rome, Georgia, it is Floyd County’s largest employer with over 3,400 employees. It is a part of the Atrium Health system. 

Floyd Medical Center is a 304-bed, full-service hospital located in Rome, Georgia. Serving as the main campus for Atrium Health Floyd, the hospital contains a certified Chest Pain Center, designated Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence and Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. 

Floyd Medical Center is also home to a state-designated Level II Trauma Center, a behavioral health center, specialty centers for pediatrics, wound care, and hyperbaric therapy. It houses primary care and urgent care networks of providers and hosts a realm of outpatient services, including the operation of the Floyd County Clinic and an associated pharmacy for uninsured patients.
