The Level I Trauma Emergency Department at Banner Desert & Children’s Medical Center is focused on fulfilling Banner’s mission to make a difference in people’s lives through excellent patient care.  As vital members of the multi-professional care team, we strive to advance the art and science of patient care, quality and safety. With over 100 beds our ED sees approximately 150,000 patients annually and care for both adult and pediatric patient populations.  We offer unique, exciting opportunities/programs for innovative care including: Certified Primary Stroke Center, Acute Chest Pain accreditation, ACS Trauma Level II (Arizona State Trauma Level I).

As an Emergency Department Technician, you will have the EMT qualifications necessary to perform the responsibilities of this position in a fast-paced environment. You will work with our professional caregivers to provide great customer service to the East Valley. This is an opportunity to use your experience and skills in a well diverse patient population. This is for a Full Time Day Shift opening, 3x12 hour shifts per week:

6:00AM-6:30pm, weekend/holiday rotations

Rotating weekends and holidays are required in this role.

You will also enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential as well as an 18% Night Shift differential where applicable!

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing patient care and assists health care providers in performing assigned patient procedures within scope of training. Position receives general supervision from RN, APN, PA, or Physician in providing patient care.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Under general supervision of the RN, APN, PA, or Physician, performs assigned procedures including, but not limited to: electrocardiogram testing (EKG); wound cleansing; initial, repeat and orthostatic vital sign measurements; application of monitor leads, specimen collection, and transports stable telemetry or non-monitored patients to nursing units. Advanced skills and functions: Where state statute permits, performs blood glucose testing; phlebotomy; saline lock insertion; IV discontinuation; bladder (Foley) catheterization. After training in these advanced skills the ED Tech may perform these functions per state and facility guidelines on adult patients and pediatric patients twelve years of age and older upon direct delegation
