We are looking for Senior Claims Specialist for Liability and Financial Lines (m/f/d), based in Munich or Cologne, Germany.

The Impact You Will Have  

 

You will report to the Team Leader of Complex Claims (Liability and Financial Lines) and work closely with the German and Swiss claims teams as well as global colleagues. Your responsibilities will include proactively handling national and international complex claims from our industrial clients, creating, and maintaining peer level relationships with brokers and collaborating with other departments to ensure a high-quality claims experience. You will manage a portfolio of clients and be the main entry point for all their claims.    

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

 

• Handle national and international complex liability claims, ensuring cost effective, service-oriented solutions. 
• Actively evaluate and address coverage and liability issues, determine appropriate reserving levels and manage litigation if appropriate and necessary. 
• Manage relationships with clients, brokers, and loss adjusters. 
• Ensure accurate and timely internal and external loss reporting. 
• Work with other teams such as Underwriting and Operations and contribute with your claims handling expertise. 
• Support the development of the claims strategy to ensure profitable growth and a strong market position. 

 

What You’ll bring to the Role 

 

• You have a German Law degree (1. or 2. State exam) or similar degree in Insurance. 
• You have a good knowledge in insurance law, coverage principles and frameworks, legal frameworks and processes, litigation management and litigation avoidance techniques (e.g., arbitration, mediation). 
• You have experience in handling complex liability or financial lines claims, or similar. 
• You interact with all relevant stakeholders in (written/spoken) German and English.  
• You are a collaborative and positive team player. 
• With excellent communication skills, you create and maintain good relationships. 
• You embrace changes and make the most of them for long-term success.
