Job Title: PRN Clinician for Physical Therapy 

Department: Rehabilitation Services

Reports To: Director of Rehabilitation Services

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Hours: PRN

Shift: Days (Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.)

Job Description

Reports to the Director of Rehab Services and/or the designated Site Leader. Assumes responsibility and accountability for the planning, provision and coordination of all aspects of direct patient care for a designated group of patients/clients in accordance with established facility and departmental policies and procedures, maintaining the highest degree of quality care. The therapist works cooperatively with other patient team personnel in maintaining standards of professional physical therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork.


The staff therapist using independent judgment also assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery of physical therapy services provided by physical therapist assistants and rehabilitation technicians/support staff and may be assigned to orient staff and students and to assume the duties and responsibilities of the team leader in the absence of that individual. The staff therapist participates in performance improvement and program development activities, which includes providing input into the budgetary planning process, contributing to cost effectiveness of services, and maintaining positive relations with all customers.


The staff therapist will also participate in special department/clinic functions as assigned by the Director of Rehab Services. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment on this job.

  • Supervision of physical therapist assistants, rehabilitation technicians/support staff, students and volunteers assigned to Physical Therapy, in accordance with state practice act, regulatory, and payor guidelines. To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
