The work of the American Heart Association’s Global Corporate Relations team is integral to the American Heart Association. Our team works diligently to find creative and informative solutions to support the Corporate Relations team. We are seeking an intern with a passion for project management and helping others through efficiency. Ideal candidates will have project management experience, possess graphic design skills, and have strong attention to detail.

 

The American Heart Association’s Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non-profit, voluntary health organization.

Internship Overview:

  • Time Commitment: 20-25 hours per week

    Internship Duration: 1/26/26-5/1/26

    Location: Remote

    Salary: $23.00 per hour

  • Complete an internship that enriches your academic and professional resume as well as enriching your personal life by making a difference in the lives of others.

 

Responsibilities

Tasks could include things like the following:

  • Assist with planning of team meetings and Symposiums such as the International Stroke Conference, European Society of Cardiology, and American College of Cardiology.
    • Provide support around event timelines, budgets, and other deliverables.
  • Project Management
    • Creation of job aids and templates.
    • Review and look for opportunities to improve the organization and management of our SharePoint site.
    • Corporate Relations Review Committee preparations.

Qualifications

  • College seniors and graduate students pursuing a degree in business.
  • Experience and/or interest in project management are highly preferred.
  • Ability to deal professionally in a corporate or non-profit environment and assume responsibility for guiding projects and programs from inception through completion.
  • Demonstrated skills in effective one-on-one and group communications and comfort with working with all levels of community leaders, volunteers, and staff.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written communications skills, including writing on health topics for promotional or educational outcomes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities.
  • Must be familiar with software including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Canva.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, including professional interaction with colleagues. 
  • Required Equipment: Reliable Wi-Fi connection
  • Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 9am-5pm.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future. For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.
