The Team:
Health Information Services is comprised of Health Information Officers, Health Information Quality Officers, Release of Patient Information Officers, Medical Transcriptionists, and Health Record Form Coordinators, and is part of the statewide Health Information Management Services team. As the health information apparatus for the Tasmanian Health Service, Health Information Services works closely with all internal and external stakeholders to advise on and/or provide action for all manner of health information centric matters. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in health information management and to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role:
In accordance with Australian Standard (AS) 2828 for health record compilation, hospital protocols and policies and under the direction of the Manager - Health Information Service (HIS) and the Supervisor Medical Records, the Health Information Officer supports the continuation of client/patient care by:
- Providing a health information administration service.
- Performing various clerical and administrative tasks involving organisational skills and attention to detail in support of the effective day to day service delivery required in Health Information Services (HIS).

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary:
$66,049 to $70,993 per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
