About the role

<p>You will be part of the team that provides market risk support to the Equity Derivatives trading desk in Amsterdam. The team is part of the Financial Risk Trading Risk Management (FR TRM) department.  FR TRM is a global department within ING CRO domain, responsible for product control and market risk management activities of the FM trading activities.</p><p>The core activities of the team are measuring and analysing the day-to-day Profit and Loss (P&amp;L) generated by the trading desk and monitoring and advising on the market risk exposures that are taken in the trading books. The team works closely with the Front Office and colleagues in other locations, such as London, where the Product Owner (PO) is based for the Equity Derivatives asset class. Next to this, the team is also involved in the product approval process, regulatory compliance projects and continuous system improvements. As a leader of a small team, you will be expected to work proactively with the Front Office and other stakeholders delivering solutions.</p><p></p><p>Roles and responsibilities</p><p>The key responsibilities for the role are:</p><ul><li><p>Managing staff: staff appraisals, coaching, and development</p></li><li><p>Producing a timely and accurate daily P&amp;L and risk report with analysis as necessary, by providing pro-active advice to aid business management.</p></li><li><p>Able to provide in depth commentary that explains P&amp;L in terms of risk factors and gives context to the evolution of market risk exposures in the trading book and demonstrate an understanding of markets developments.</p></li><li><p>Monitoring, analysing, and reporting the organisation’s market risk exposure on a day-to-day and long-term basis for the Equity Derivatives desk.</p></li><li><p>Closely follow market developments and analyse both the realised and potential impact on the trading portfolio.</p></li><li><p>Continuously engaging with FO to keep up to date with their trading strategy and pricing.</p></li><li><p>Monitoring trading limits and reviewing transactions over the established limits</p></li><li><p>Understanding and explaining the content of the reporting to FO and senior management</p></li><li><p>Improvement of the desk processes, looking for opportunities to increase efficiency and enhance the control framework.</p></li><li><p>Participating in monthly desk reviews with Front Office, on limit consumption, limit review and pro-active risk management topics.</p></li><li><p>Support business initiative and enhancements including the delivery of new product in conjunction with FO.</p></li><li><p>Execution of the global valuation adjustment framework for the equity asset class and the adherence and maintenance of the relevant ING policies as appropriate.</p></li><li><p>Ensuring the reporting is SOx compliant.</p></li><li><p>Reporting quality improvements and liaising with other business and support areas to resolve issues</p></li><li><p>Supporting the stress testing framework development (historical, hypothetical, and reverse stress testing) for the Equity Derivatives asset class</p></li><li><p>Involvement in local and global projects to implement changes in systems and regulations.</p></li><li><p>Functional testing of P&amp;L and risk management system upgrades and model implementations in cooperation with FO, Quants, and IT</p></li><li><p>Supporting Model Development Quants in the development of models and methodologies and Model Validation quants in the validation of models and methodologies</p></li><li><p>Involvement in local and global projects to implement changes in systems and regulations.</p></li></ul><p></p><p>How to succeed</p><p>We hire smart people like you for your potential.
