Position Purpose:
The Host assists the department through the transport, delivery and retrieval of completed food trays to patients.
What you will do:
Solves patient/customer problems, treats patients/customer with dignity and respect, acknowledges patients/customers and responds quickly to customer needs.
Conduct demonstrates compliance with and reporting of suspected violations of all relevant laws, regulations, Compliance Policies and Procedures, and the CODE OF CONDUCT.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service appropriate to the age of the patient served, including knowledge of the principles of growth and development and psychosocial characteristics and interventions.
Demonstrates the ability to assess and interpret age appropriate data about the patient’s status in order to identify age-specific needs and provide the service needed.
Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.
Knowledgeable of, observes and complies with hospital safety policies, emergency procedures, and standard precautions.
Follow safety policies and procedures included but not limited to: using two patient identifiers, washing or sanitizing before and after going into patient rooms, delivering to isolation patients following proper signage and directions for the isolation precautions, and following diet orders set in place by doctors.
Working Conditions:
Candidate must be able to focus in a fast-paced and busy environment as duties include transporting meals to and from patient care floors throughout the entirety of the workday.
This position will be working on the patient tray line and up on the patient floors for the majority of their shift. Pushes carts containing patient trays to and from floors.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Previous customer service experience preferred but not require
Good verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and complete assignments in a timely manner.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
