About the role
<p>KEY PURPOSE OF ROLE</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The Principal Enterprise Architect (EA) is the Senior Technical Leadership role aligned to a single major account, multiple accounts (typically within a sub-vertical) which are typically very complex and/or highly visible. This may be one or more accounts running BT services and/or a business development account pre-sales. </p>
<p>The key purpose of the role is to enhance the customer experience and drive profitable growth. The EA is the customers Trusted Advisor on all things technology and design and as such become an integral part of customer’s matrix technical leadership team, creating value through the exploitation of technology across complex multiple platforms and/or technology areas. </p>

<p>The EA is the primary customer interface up to CIO level for all technical design aspects of BT’s solution. Specifically:</p>
<ul>
<li>Be part of the Client Partner’s leadership team and align personal goals with the account targets, demonstrating how you are contributing to revenue generation, cashflow.</li>
<li>Maintain a 3+ year solution roadmap co-created with the customers key decision makers and stakeholders. The road map draws on the customer’s business drivers, industry trends and BT’s Repeatable product and solutions portfolio and building blocks. The roadmap is the key artifact driving the account development plan</li>
<li>Accountable for successful technical delivery of all account activity with a specific focus on time, cost and quality</li>
<li>Provide leadership to the operational teams in moments of major customer jeopardy</li>
<li>Ensure technical risks and issues that could impact the service are owned by the appropriate players</li>
<li>Create, own and execute regular governance forums – at least quarterly - with the Client Partner and VP Technical Design to evidence continuous progress against personal goals and account goals</li>
<li>May lead a sub-vertical and support the wider team in developing opportunities</li>
<li>Generate revenue, ICV, ICGM as directed in goals/objectives through customer sales.</li>
</ul>

<p>On a development account the purpose is to work with the Account Director and Deal Architect to develop new business opportunities and to build a well-qualified pipeline. Specifically:</p>
<ul>
<li>Be part of the Presales team and align personal goals with the account targets, demonstrating how you are contributing to pipeline. </li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Create and maintain a 3+ year solution roadmap co-created with the customers key decision makers and stakeholders. The road map draws on the customer’s business drivers, industry trends and BT’s Repeatable product and solutions portfolio and building blocks. The roadmap is the key artifact driving the account development plan</li>

<li>Agree specific goals with the Client Partner/Account Director for the design and technology contribution to the account development plan. These will vary by account and contract lifecycle phase, including areas such as revenue generation, cashflow.</li>
<li>Generate revenue as directed in goals/objectives through customer sales.</li>
<li>Run quarterly reviews with the Client Partner/Account Director to track progress against agreed goals</li>
<li>Direct the Customer Success community resolve service issues with technical advice as necessary</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Challenge people to deliver outcomes effectively. Provide feedback where things have gone well or need improving</li>
<li>Ensure delivers the right resource, in the right place, at the right cost, doing the right things</li>
<li>Challenge all Operations and other teams to deliver their functional responsibilities</li>
<li>Accountable for those performing design work on the account, whether BT, technology partners or third parties</li>
<li>Mentor and share knowledge with others</li>
<li>Know your team. Reach out to your design team, make sure they know who you are and what your accountabilities are. Ensure people are onboarded and supported efficiently so they can deliver flawless deliverables at pace.</li>
</ul>

<li>Ensure solution roadmaps are current, available and fully aligned to the account plan and Customer plans. Evidence and celebrate where items from your roadmap are contracted.</li>
<li>Ensure all design documentation is managed in a quality fashion.</li>
<li>Ensure a proactive schedule of technical audits are carried out, with remedial actions followed through and closed.</li>
<li>Adopt design patterns and repeatable solution best practice across account domains</li>
<li>Adopt use of best practice design tools within your account</li>
<li>Ensure operational teams complete root cause analysis and implement learning for issues and especially P1 in
