About the Role:
The Community Smiles Outreach Representative is dedicated to increasing dental benefits utilization and promoting oral health education in the community. This role involves facilitating navigation assistance, educating community members and partners, and coordinating events to build awareness and engagement among existing and potential members. You will forge meaningful relationships with community organizations, legislators, and local agencies to meet the community’s educational and social service needs.

Please Note:
Location: Las Vegas, NV – Candidates must be local to the area for commuting and office access.
Travel: This role requires frequent travel to local welfare centers, with an expectation of being on the road three to four days per week.
Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance with minimum liability coverage of $100,000.

Bilingual with fluency in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and identify opportunities to increase community awareness of dental benefits and oral health through schools, advocacy organizations, and other community resource centers.
  • Provide educational opportunities and resources to help community members access dental benefits.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with community organizations, including school nurses and agencies serving various populations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local and state legislators.
  • Collaborate with county service offices such as Public Health, Human Assistance, Homeless Services Authority, and Children & Family Services.
  • Develop outreach initiatives targeting underserved populations in local communities.
  • Coordinate and participate in community events to increase engagement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree (2-year) in Public Health Administration, Health Education, or Dental Assistant program.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in dental healthcare, dental office, or dental insurance environment.
  • Bilingual with fluency in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish.
  • Knowledge and experience working with diverse communities.
  • Familiarity with government structures, agencies, and policies impacting business and community programs.
  • Experience with outreach to providers and members, government program managed care, or HEDIS measures preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of dental terminology preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience facilitating public meetings or forums.
  • Exceptional organizational and planning abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance with minimum liability coverage of $100,000.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and two weekend days per month.
