Peraton is seeking qualified individuals to join our team to provide Network Security Engineering Support to Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, Dam Neck who supports the Program Executive Office Unmanned and Small Combatants (PEO) providing cybersecurity engineering support, cybersecurity requirements Software Support Activity support for the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) class Environment (TSCE) networks, LCS Afloat Sites for PMS 501 (New Construction), Service), and IWS80 Littoral Combat Ships( LCS).

Here are some details for your consideration, you will provide: Network-engineering support to pre-delivery and in-service LCS ships. Serve within a team of engineers for the LCS Total Ships Computing Environment (TSCE) core business network and provide support for the LCS Software Support Agent (SSA).
Perform network engineering, integration, evaluation and testing within the LCS TSCE core business network. Perform networks security updates upgrades to ensure the security and integrity of the TSCE network. Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve issues with the LCS TSCE infrastructure including devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
As our Network Security Engineer you will have the opportunity to perform the following duties associated for support, maintenance, performance and uptime of the LCS TSCE core infrastructure:
- Engineer, lead, and coordinate enterprise network and infrastructure platforms, including but not limited to, secure data, unified communications, and configuration management to operate across technical activities performed within the associated environments.
- Lead technical planning and systems engineering to ensure cyber compliance and security posture with respect to availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation of critical system information.
- Perform STIGs for Linux, Windows systems, remediate vulnerabilities to include conducting vulnerability scans (ACAS) and audits
- Perform security reviews, identify gaps in security architecture, and develop security risk management plans.
- Assist in the design, development, and security of platform and CEs by mapping requirements to architecture, documenting system policies and plans, and in generating platform baselines from a functional perspective.
- Provide services to include support for lifecycle A&A, robust risk assessment and management strategies, and a security patch management process.
- Lead multidisciplined, geographically displaced teams to effectively operate, maintain, continuously monitor, defend, and protect network-computing environments.
- Serve as technical conduit for network designs, development, and deployment activities ensuring testing and evaluation practices, documentation, and requirements are successfully exercised within the associated environments.
- Providing high-level technical and operational hands-on support and strategic expertise in networking technology, including LAN/WAN/SDN/Cloud software, hardware, switches, routers, bridges, IP networks, circuits, and encryption standard and non-standard devices.
- Lead diverse technical teams that integrating new technology into the existing operational environment.
- Establish and sustain documentation baselines to measure network performance and capability across a global enterprise.
- Advise senior government staff on industry best practices and provide policy recommendations to implement those practices.
Qualifications
Required Degree/Certification:
- 5 years with BS/BA
- 4 years of related work experience in lieu of BS/BA degree
- Minimum certification as 541 (or similar as required by the Technical Instruction) at the Advanced level per DoDD 8140.01, or successor.
- All persons performing as Privileged Users are required to have and maintain a final adjudicated Tier 5 security investigation with an IT level-1 designation in Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) and/or Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
Travel:
- Ability to travel up to 25% (Domestic - primarily Jacksonville, FL and San Diego, CA)
Required Experience:
- Shall have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Network Engineering.
- Shall have demonstrated experience with performing STIG implementation.
- Shall have demonstrated experience performing vulnerability assessments with the AssuredCompliance Assessment Solution tool.
