Job Description
- Collaborate with the development of the SEE EHS programs and ensure implementation in the Business Unit / Plants under his/her responsibility.
- The position is responsible for ensuring, in the Plants of his/her responsibility, Environmental compliance with all local, state and country applicable regulatory and industry accepted EHS standards.
- Promote a Zero Harm Safety Culture: Provide leadership and coaching to EHS Managers/Coordinators at Plant Level and Plant Managers, to create a workplace free of recognized hazards, promote safe work behaviors and foster a culture that keeps the safety of our employees a business Value.
- Standards, Technical Guidance: Assist the NA EHS team in the development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of Environmental Health and Safety programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Tactically deploy tools and training to the NA SC Business Unit Segment leadership team, plant managers, and EHS coordinators to ensure implementation of the standards.
- Audit Process: Manage and implement local EHS compliance audits to monitor progress of continuous improvement and compliance for the NA SC Business Unit Segment. Leverage the data and findings to implement true root cause corrective actions. Lead efforts to minimize any legal regulatory activity from government authorities.
- Training: Implement training strategies and course curriculum to advance the knowledge of the NA SC Business Unit Segment team including the leadership team, plant managers, and plant EHS Coordinators.
- Risk Management: Work in collaboration with the Risk Management Department on the tactical development and deployment of loss prevention (Fire and WC) strategies to reduce loss experience.
- Risk Mitigation: Find and Eliminate Waste, tactically implement opportunities for the business unit to continuously improve environmental programs in the areas of pollution abatement, environmental and wastewater management and to identify ways to minimize processes that affect employee safety and the environment.
- Act as Lead Auditor in Plants defined by the Regional EHS Director.
- Actively partner with the regional EHS Director and Supply Chain Leadership Team to define, roll out and track site and regional level EHS goals and strategies.
- Assess, coach and grow country level EHS resources, enabling the talent and skills necessary to drive continuous improvement towards world class EHS performance.
- Project Management: Work with plants, facility managers and EHS leads to ensure regulatory compliance, and life safety risks are adequately managed for new capital investments. Effectively coach the implementation of change management.
- Key Performance Indicators: Provide guidance, interpretation and verification for KPI’s. Perform analysis of data to identify trends and set targets in alignment with Corporate Goals and develop proactive action plans / programs based on pareto analyses to improve performance.
- Support the NA EHS Team, when interfacing with local/state/country agency on issues related to EHS.
- Manage direct report (s) and coordinate alignment and execution of EHS strategy.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in an EHS related field and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Requires broad management knowledge to lead regional teams, and well as the ability to influence others outside of own job area regarding policies, procedures, and goals
