What you’ll do:
Position title: SAP iXp Intern – Business Intelligence and Data Analytics, SAP Community
Location: Newtown Square, PA (Hybrid)
Expected start date: 6-12 months
Working hours: 32-40 hours/week
This position will work hand-in-hand with the Sr. Data Analyst supporting SAP’s large public online SAP Community (community.sap.com) as part of the Community Operations team. The community is visited by 2 million users every month and is a virtual gathering place for employees, customers, partners, and developers where questions are answered, dialogue about software or industries is hosted, and various activities take place. The Community Operations team is part of the Ecosystems and Communities (E&C) organization which, in addition to several Community focused teams, also includes the Developer Advocates team as well as a team dedicated to the SAP Learning site (learning.sap.com). The Ops team is made up of a diverse group of peopled with the mandate to increase user engagement and platform utilization via programs that emphasize the power of the community as a source of learning. In that context, as part of the analytics function, you will:
- Support data engineering tasks by improving SAP Community data pipelines
- Improve efforts around “listening” to what users are talking about: what types of topics are trending; what users are interested in; and whether there are problems with software causing issues for users and developers. To do this you will engage in data modeling, cluster analysis, AI model application, signal detection, and content summarization. The results of these analyses will be shared with stakeholder groups in product marketing, product support, and other stakeholder groups to drive relevant actions and optimizations in the community.
- Be adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for web engagement, content and process optimization based on the analysis of multiple data sources. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering patterns and identifying problems in large data sets and working with multiple stakeholders to improve business outcomes.
- Perform ad hoc analyses of Community data to understand what’s driving trends and communicate these insights in a way that other teams can react to what’s happening.
What you bring:

- Min. Bachelor's degree in a computer science, math, or analytics program (or equivalent work experience)
- Eligibility: Must be currently enrolled, or recently graduated (start date must be within 6 months of graduation date) from a coding academy/bootcamp, apprenticeship, associate, bachelor’s, master’s or JD/PhD program
- Proficient in Python, preferably with experience in pandas, numpy, scipy and web scraping libraries
- Proficient in SQL
- Proficient in Excel
- Experience with PowerBI or similar dashboarding software such as Tableau
- Experience with data visualization
- Ability to translate and communicate data analyses and results in a way that’s easily understandable to non-experts
- Position requirements
- Familiarity with techniques such clustering, anomaly detection, etc.
