Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned IT Project Manager with a strong foundation in automotive manufacturing IT systems to helm a large-scale IT project for a new manufacturing facility. In this dual-role, the successful candidate will manage the planning and execution of the IT infrastructure project, working in unison with local and global resources.
Upon the successful launch of the facility (post-go-live), this role will transition to a Sr. Manager, IT Projects/Site Operations position to support our Florence, South Carolina plant in construction. The candidate will oversee the IT operations at the new plant, ensure optimal system performance, maintain IT security standards, and manage the newly established IT team.
Key Responsibilities:
- IT Project Management: Oversee all IT facets of the new manufacturing facility construction, including project planning, risk management, resource allocation, and setting performance standards. Ensure alignment with project objectives, company policies, and customer needs.
- IT Infrastructure and Network Planning: Collaborate with local and global teams to establish an effective IT infrastructure and network. Direct the implementation of hardware and software solutions, troubleshoot any arising issues, and verify system functionality through comprehensive testing.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, stakeholders, and other departments to ensure a smooth project flow. Negotiate contracts, manage product procurement, and ensure deliverables meet the predefined quality standards.
- Team Building: Recruit, train, and manage a competent IT team during the construction process. Foster a collaborative environment and provide guidance to junior team members.
- IT Operations Management (Post-Go-Live): Oversee the new plant's IT operations, including system administration, network operations, and database administration. Manage IT staff, including their training and development.
- IT Security and Compliance: Ensure all IT operations adhere to set IT security standards and comply with relevant laws and regulations. Regularly review systems and identify security vulnerabilities. Plan, manage and execute regional IT project related to manufacturing control systems and integration, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and high quality
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the manufacturing team, to define project scope, goals, timelines, and deliverables.
- Develop project plans and schedules, identify risks and provides risk mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure that project solutions align with business needs.
- Manage project budgets and provide regular status reports on project progress and financials.
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path items.
- Manage project scope, change request, and communications across all levels of the organization.
- Ensure that project deliverables are complete on time, within budget and meet quality standards.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project team members and stakeholders.
- Facilitate project meeting, including kickoff, status updates and post-project review meetings.
