Position Summary
The HR Intern will support the Human Resources department in various functions, gaining hands-on experience in recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and HR administration within a manufacturing environment. This role provides an opportunity to develop HR skills while contributing to a dynamic workplace. The position will be based in Gurnee, Illinois.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in recruitment processes, including coordinating onsite scheduling availability and resume screening.
Support new hire orientation, training sessions and documentation.
Help maintain HR records, including personnel files and compliance documentation.
Participate in employee engagement initiatives and workplace culture development.
Ensure compliance with labor laws.
Assist in basic investigations related to workplace incidents, employee concerns or compliance issues.
Support performance management efforts, including assisting with employee write-ups and maintaining disciplinary documentation.
Education & Experience:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in human resources or related field.
Knowledge, Skills, & Talents
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Interest in HR compliance, labor laws and employee relations.
Willingness to collaborate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
A desire to learn the company’s business and industry, coupled with a desire for professional growth.
Computer literacy with proficient use of Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Pay
The estimated base pay range for this position is $20/hr – $25/hr. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic location.
