HR Intern - Manufacturing Operations

Position Summary

The HR Intern will support the Human Resources department in various functions, gaining hands-on experience in recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and HR administration within a manufacturing environment. This role provides an opportunity to develop HR skills while contributing to a dynamic workplace. The position will be based in Gurnee, Illinois.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in recruitment processes, including coordinating onsite scheduling availability and resume screening.

• Support new hire orientation, training sessions and documentation.

• Help maintain HR records, including personnel files and compliance documentation.

• Participate in employee engagement initiatives and workplace culture development.

• Ensure compliance with labor laws.

• Assist in basic investigations related to workplace incidents, employee concerns or compliance issues.

• Support performance management efforts, including assisting with employee write-ups and maintaining disciplinary documentation.

Education & Experience:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in human resources or related field.

Knowledge, Skills, & Talents

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

• Interest in HR compliance, labor laws and employee relations.

• Willingness to collaborate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• A desire to learn the company’s business and industry, coupled with a desire for professional growth.

• Computer literacy with proficient use of Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Pay

The estimated base pay range for this position is $20/hr – $25/hr. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic location.
