Palo Alto Networks® CASB team is looking for a seasoned and accomplished Senior Principal Software Engineer to help build out our Security capability to extend CASB product across different marketplaces with cutting edge, innovative features and support for more apps. As a founding member of the team, you have the unique opportunity to:

• Build a world class posture security solution which caters to the growing needs of multiple Fortune 100 enterprise companies across the globe
• Be part of a world-class software engineering team that works on various ground-breaking cloud security service offerings
• Lead the development team to deliver security as a service in the public cloud by providing highly scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant infrastructure

We expect office-based employees to be in the office four days per week, with one day working from where they choose. We believe being together facilitates casual conversations and those magic moments where we can work on issues and ideas informally. These moments build capability and deepen trusted relationships and allow our people to feel safe in taking risks and being disruptive. Like so many companies, we are working through the details and things could change …. but in general if a role is deemed office-based we want our teams to be together four days per week.

Your Impact

• Lead the technology strategy for building out a world class posture security solution, influence critical decisions on technology, architecture,integration, and go to market
• Design, develop and implement highly scalable software features and infrastructure on our next-generation security platform ready for cloud native deployment from inception to completion
• Drive a results-oriented culture with a strong focus on execution, quality, and speed
• Lead cross-functionally with Product Management, SRE, Software, and Quality Engineering teams to deliver new security as a service offerings to the market in a timely fashion with excellent quality
• Develop a strong culture of diversity, intellectual curiosity, problem-solving, and openness
• Work closely with customer support teams to improve end-customer outcomes
• Be a strong mentor and coach to the team
• Foster innovation in the organization
• Hiring, developing, and mentoring software developers, and managing investments that accelerate scaling for new service offerings

Qualifications

Your Experience

• 8+ years of experience in highly technical roles in development of enterprise services, at large organizations or innovative startups
• Extensive hands-on experience and working knowledge of security concepts - CASB Security, deep understanding of web protocols, integration with third party APIs and services
• Preferred experience with AI based conversational UI and chatbot platforms 
• Preferred experience with machine learning (building custom models, GPT-4 and LLMs)
• Experience with the agile process and leading software development teams involved with building out full stack products, deployed on the cloud at scale
• Experience with building and delivering services and  workflows at scale, leveraging microservices architectures
• 5+ years Experience with cloud-based architectures (AWS/GCP experience preferred)
• Hands-on programming experience in one or more of the following - Java, Golang, Python 
• 5+ years of experience in cloud technologies like ElasticSearch, Redis, Kafka, Mongo DB, Spring Boot
• Experience with full-stack development (Rest APIs, Databases, Serverless computing) of distributed cloud applications
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms  
• Good understanding of public cloud design considerations and limitations in areas of microservice archite
