An organization within Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems Sector, Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA) is a leading innovator in advanced microelectronics design and fabrication. MDA is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer. This position is located in Baltimore, MD.
What You’ll get to Do:
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to gather and analyze functional and non-functional requirements specific to AWG, Oscilloscope, and Network Analyzer applications.
- Collaborate with domain experts to ensure that the hardware meets the technical requirements for signal generation, analysis, and measurement.
- Ensure that the hardware architecture supports responsive and real-time user interactions.
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks in hardware systems, ensuring that the instruments operate with minimal latency and high throughput.
- Act as a technical liaison between software development teams, hardware engineers, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
- Systems architects will drive program goals and strategies and build a system that aligns to the organization.
- Collaborate with project managers to estimate project timelines, resource requirements, and deliverables related to hardware development for electronic instruments.
This position will serve on-site in Linthicum/ Annapolis Junction, MD.
Basic Qualifications for Staff Systems Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 10 years of experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 8 years of experience.
- Demonstrated Model Based Systems Engineering (SysML).
- Demonstrated Experience working with CAMEO.
- Experience in provide presentations of results and progress to customers and senior management.
- Experience with Python & MATLAB,
- Demonstrated Backlog Planning and Management.
- Experience in systems development, integration, and test.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Active US Government security clearance per customers requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated Experience with Systems Development Lifecycle, Focus on PDR to CDR.
- Experience with overseeing Software Integration and Test. i.e. Software Unit tests, Software Integration Tests, and Software User Acceptance Tests.
- Strong written and verbal communication with sound leadership skills, including negotiation and decision-making.
