The Executive Director of Programs to report directly to the Sr. Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Executive Director will be responsible for program development in the areas of online education, integration of technology into the classroom, new revenue generating graduate programs, and enrollment management. This position will also be responsible for creating innovative initiatives to support student affairs both at the graduate and undergraduate level. The Executive Director will implement strategic initiatives for the College and perform benchmarking studies as requested. The position will also serve as chief liaison for the College to other internal units of the University, such as the Division of Continuing and International Education, the Office of Community and Civic Engagement, the Graduate School, the Office of Communications, the Office of Admissions and the Office of Planning, Institutional Research and Assessment. In conjunction with the College Leadership Team, the Executive Director will work to build and strengthen faculty, alumni, and regional networks in support of entrepreneurship within Arts and Sciences. Activities may involve student funding opportunities, entrepreneurship internships, speaker series, skills-building coursework, workshops, and networking opportunities.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree; Ph.D. is preferred; and a minimum of 7 years of work experience. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will have the ability to cultivate creative risk-taking and innovation. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written. Highly developed organizational skills, including demonstrated ability to coordinate complex and multi-faceted projects, as well as to manage multiple projects concurrently. Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively. Capacity to manage others. Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, alumni, and other offices on campus. Graduate work in a discipline involving educational systems is a plus. Candidates are asked to identify any additional qualifications that may contribute to their successful implementation of the position, including teaching experience; experience advising students; experience with communications; knowledge of web-based data-management systems, database and spreadsheet programs, etc.
