The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences, Division of Pediatric Adolescent Gynecology (PAG) has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Professor of Clinical. The faculty will be appointed as an Assistant Professor of Clinical in Pediatric Adolescent Gynecology on the Clinician Educator track will have clinical responsibilities within the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences and will serve as an attending physician in the Division of Pediatric Adolescent Gynecology (PAG). This includes outpatient clinic and inpatient attending responsibilities for the division on inpatient units at UHealth & Jackson Holtz Women’s & Children’s Hospital.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Members of the Pediatric Adolescent Gynecology Division provide care for pediatric, adolescent and young adult patients working with the allied health professionals, specialists and subspecialists in both the University of Miami/ UHealth and Jackson Health Systems. Specialty care includes medical and surgical management of the full spectrum of PAG, including vulvovaginal disorders, menstrual disorders, congenital anomalies of the reproductive system including intersex, adnexal masses, chronic pelvic pain and endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome. A strong commitment to teaching medical students, residents and fellows is essential. Scholarly activity is key to success in academic institutions and faculty will receive support in clinical investigation in a broad range of domains, including but not limited to patient oriented, translational, epidemiologic, behavioral, outcomes, implementation or health services research.
The current position is for a 90% clinical FTE to include:
An average of 7 half-day outpatient clinics per week
Operating room time
Administrative time
Shared coverage of PAG emergencies
Patient care responsibilities include gathering essential and accurate information through the review of pertinent records and interviews with the patient, family members, caregivers, and other health professionals. Timely completion of records, communication with referring physicians, and addressing of patient concerns through the patient portals is key to clinical performance.
Education roles and responsibilities include clinical and didactic training and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows in OBGYN, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, and Medicine/Pediatrics programs.
It is anticipated that with PAG Division growth a PAG fellowship will be developed, and the faculty member will help with creation of the fellowship.

Dedication to promotion of PAG as a specialty, including networking with colleagues at the university and in the community, as well as in professional societies.
Ability to communicate well with patients and their families across the wide variety of cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds served in South Florida. In addition to clinical care, there are
opportunities for development
of educational webinars for patients and families.
Ability to speak Spanish and/or Creole is an asset.
Surgical experience in ovarian tissue freezing and management of differences of sexual development would complement existing services.
