Position Type: Full-Time

Pay Rate: $52,000.00-$54,000.00 annually

Job Summary:
Coordinates, plans, develops, and supports the Division’s Safe From Harm Program in coordination with the DS for Personnel. Serves as central-point-of-contact for child/adult safety issues in the division. Oversight of all Level II screening process for the ALM Division.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversees the successful implementation of the Safe From Harm program at all levels of administration, denominational ministry, social services programs and camp activities within the division. Responsibilities will include coordinating the development of integrated systems, procedures and divisional policy to ensure compliance with Safe From Harm guidelines.
• Convenes and facilitates a Divisional Safe From Harm Committee with representation from the DYS, DSSD, HR Director, Camp Director, Volunteer Services, EDS and I.T. This committee should meet quarterly to ensure that Safe From Harm is being effectively integrated into divisional policy and procedure at all levels.
• Ensures that each corps and social service program in the division identifies a Safe from Harm Coordinator who will oversee Safe From Harm training and compliance for that unit.
• Coordinates a team of Safe From Harm trainers (size of this team will depend on the geographic size of the division). In addition to the initial Train the Trainer event, convenes trainers annually to provide program and policy updates.
• Develops and implements, with guidance from THQ, a standard system for collecting annual child and vulnerable adults protection audits from each corps and social service program in the division, and provides specific safety recommendations to each unit based on a thorough review of these audits.
• Working with Divisional and Territorial administration, reports and investigates any and all claims or allegations that violate Safe From Harm protocols according to Safe From Harm policies and procedures; ensures that violations and investigations involving employees are coordinated with the Divisional Human Resources Director.
• Maintains close and ongoing communication with the Territorial Safe From Harm Coordinator and communicates changes in safety policy and/or procedures from THQ to the field.
• Maintains the Safe From Harm database.
• Remains current on child and vulnerable adults abuse reporting statues in the state(s) covered by the division and notifies the Territorial Safe From Harm Coordinator of changes that may affect the Safe From Harm program.
• On occasion, may be requested to attend and/or testify at a disposition or other legal hearing.
• Remains familiar with the background check process for the division; works closely with Human Resources to ensure all background checks are completed for SA personnel working with minors and/or vulnerable adults.
LEVEL II SCREENINGS
• Provides oversight of the Level II Screening process for the ALM Division. This includes Divisional implementation, training, policy reviews and updates; serves as the resident expert for the Division answering field questions and troubleshooting problems as they arise.
• Processes all Level II screenings for the Division and trouble shoots issues as needed with the field, DCF and Clearinghouse.
• Remains current on Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi law pertaining to Level II screenings and requirements; updates the Divisional Finance Board and field as necessary.

TRAINING
• Attends annual Divisional Safe From Harm Coordinators Conference; this provides an opportunity for additional training, review of new or updated materials and resources, and networking with other coordinators from around the territory.
• Facilitates the training of all officers, employees and volunteers working in high risk positions with children youth and vulnerable adults with leadership assistance and consultation provided by the Territorial Safe From Harm Coordinator.
• Maintains training records in the web-based SFH Training Database (litmos), and ensures accuracy of training information provided by SFH trainers in the field.
• Acquires and organizes literature, materials and resources to support training needs.
• Communicates to all corps and service units information related to training.
• Receives all sign-in sheets from trainers once trainings have been completed; maintains training records for all personnel within the division using the territorial SFH database by adding new users and checking expiration dates of current training; notifies divisional personnel when they need to renew their training.
