The Analyst will play a key role in both portfolio management and new loan underwriting, gaining exposure to a diverse portfolio of asset types including industrial, multifamily, retail, student housing, and construction lending. This is an excellent opportunity to build deep expertise in real estate finance while working alongside experienced banking and credit professionals.

About the Team

The team operates as a centralized CRE group, partnering with bankers across multiple regions, including Minneapolis, Chicago, Ohio, St. Louis, Denver, and Texas. While regionally aligned, the portfolio has national coverage, providing broad exposure to transactions across the U.S.

This is a collaborative, team-oriented environment with approximately 10 local team members and additional partners across the national platform.

New Loan Underwriting (Approx. 60%)

  • Evaluate new lending opportunities and support deal execution
  • Perform financial analysis and credit underwriting, including:
    • Spreading financial statements
    • Assessing deal structure, risks, and key strengths
  • Complete initial deal assessments independently and refine analysis with senior team members

Core Responsibilities Across Both Areas

  • Conduct first-pass transaction reviews, identifying risks, strengths, and key considerations
  • Contribute to credit memos and business writing
  • Participate in credit discussions and present findings to internal stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Three to five years of experience in a finance/analytical related role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial banking or credit analysis
  • CRE underwriting or commercial real estate lending experience
