Position Description:
The HVAC Technician is responsible for the safe and proper installation of self-contained, one-piece refrigeration units in our Refrigerated Truck Body Product.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Below are examples of the type of duties you could be responsible for:
- Matching the correct refer unit to the specified truck body
- Assuring all electrical components are correctly connected
- Assuring drains, fuel lines, fuel pump, and other optional accessories are installed correctly and connected – Other options may include USB download port, standby power receptacle
- Assuring the HVAC controller is wired and correctly connected in the cab of the chassis
- Reviewing finished product and assuring accuracy to customer work order and refer OEM installation instructions, including OEM check list and certification
- Maintaining proper internal training to perform this job at Wabash standards
- Moving chassis and body from location to location in a safe manner
- Start and run the unit to make sure the installation was done correctly
- Trouble shooting and adjusting as necessary to meet Wabash standards

Qualifications:
- Have experience with mechanics.
- Can safely lift 34 kilos (75 lbs.). 2 Person Lift Capacity
- Have a basic understanding of electricity and electrical wiring.
- Have the necessary tools and equipment to complete the installation.
- Have a truck body designed and built to meet the requirements of this installation.
- Follow all safety precautions outlined in the installation manual.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Basic reading /writing/ & verbal skills
Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience:
- Must be mechanically inclined. Must have basic electrical, mechanical, and plumbing knowledge. Attention to detail and willingness to operate a forklift, hoist, and work on service platforms or scaffolding. Be able to work with someone or independently. Read work orders and blueprints as needed and electrical schematics. Be able to climb, bend, crawl, walk and stand, working at heights of 10 feet. Experience and education are great to come into this position with. Upon receiving an offer letter from us, you’ll undergo orientation and several days of training, preparing you for the position.
