The Purpose:
We're currently seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting to support our team’s strategy, growth and innovation. You will collaborate closely with the VP, Head of Accounting & Tax to develop and implement high-quality accounting processes, ensuring compliance with German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS. Your role will involve managing key entities within the group, supporting audits, and contributing to the financial success of the company.We are looking for someone who has strong technical accounting knowledge within these areas, excellent problem solving skills, is a strong communicator, thrives on process improvement, and enjoys working in a challenging, fast–paced environment to support our continued success.
Hybrid working - We offer flexible working, so you can strike the right balance between office and home working. In addition to our 30-day holiday allowance, we also provide a work from abroad policy, enabling employees to work remotely for up to another 30 days per year

What you'll be doing:
- Provide technical accounting advisory and be the subject matter expert to support German GAAP and Group IFRS compliance.
- Prepare monthly financial statements for German subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Manage responsibilities for statutory close/compliance processes
- Be a key partner with our Group auditors to ensure efficient and effective audit process
- Apply a controls-based culture on financial oversight; identify and remediate control deficiencies as required.
- Drive to continuously improve the automation of accounting and reporting processes; rethink the status quo for continuous improvement and gaining efficiencies
- Drive engagements with global / regional accounting and cross functionally
- Ad-hoc global or regional finance projects as necessary
You'll need to have:
- Degree educated in Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics or equivalent
- Big four trained (5+ years post qualification) with financial services experience
- Expertise in German GAAP & IFRS with strong knowledge and experience in reporting & consolidations
- Significant experience managing external auditors
- Business level English and German
- Strong communication, collaboration and teamwork skills across all levels
- Proven critical thinking capability
- Managed multiple stakeholders, preference in a matrix organisation
- Good communication skills and ability to work with remote teams across departments
- Ability to identify and drive business accounting process improvement
- Experience with major ERP systems a plus (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle)
