Position Summary:
The Director of FP&A will help manage the company’s management financial reporting and forecasting and financial planning in addition to involvement in the strategic plan, the annual budgeting process, monthly and quarterly analysis and special projects. A key aspect of the position will be to provide strategic support to senior management including but not limited to preparing presentations, capital expenditure analysis, industry/peer group comparisons, new business opportunities, new product development revenue and profitability and acquisition analysis. This role will perform complex duties requiring professional experience, leadership skills, knowledge, and competency in areas that go beyond the traditional accounting functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Director of FP&A will be a business partner to the CFO while ensuring that the Dover Pumps and Process Solutions (DPPS) segment and Dover Corporate requirements are exceeded. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Prepare comprehensive business / financial forecasts, reports, and/or analysis
• Assist Chief Financial Officer and senior management team with various components of the strategic planning process
• Develop key market drivers and model forward industry trends to assist with strategic business decision making for future growth
• Manage components of the annual budgeting process for the operating company and effectively present the plan
• Coordinate the monthly and quarterly forecasting and business review process including pre-earnings package preparation for submission to corporate
• Utilize the Dover Financial Systems (DRS/DPLAN) and OneStream to facilitate information flow and improve the forecasting process
• Assist in preparation of financial presentations made to others in the DPPS Segment or Dover Corporate
• Align business metrics with segment and corporate objectives and provide appropriate scorekeeping
• Important involvement in acquisition analysis and capital justification to ensure investments are justified and have met anticipated payoffs
• Assist in the justification of new product development, ensuring financial targets are established and measuring success after eventual launch
• Support M&A activity through acquisition modeling, due diligence, and geographic expansion analysis
• Champion continuous working capital understanding and cash flow forecasting improvement within the operating company
• Provide financial expertise and counsel to clients and team members
• Lead continuous improvement activities for improved operations of the Finance Team
• Identify opportunity areas where special analysis may help improve financial decisions
• Assist leadership in meeting all financial commitments and goals
• Travel up to 25%
Qualifications / Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required, CPA and/or MBA desirable
• 10+ years of experience in a finance position, public accounting & manufacturing exposure desired
• High proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
• Experience in creating advanced financial modeling tools
• Experience in working in an international business environment
