Your new role
As our new Associate/Associate Director Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, overseeing complex structural projects, and shaping the future of our structural engineering services. Reporting directly to the Head of Department in our multidisciplinary High Rise & Complex Buildings team, you will be entrusted with a range of responsibilities, which require a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking. You will be responsible for undertaking and overseeing work from the initial design concept through to detailed design, supervision, and quality assurance of structures. As a part of a global spearhead, you can expect to be working on projects across the Nordics and Europe, in sectors such as commercial, leisure and residential developments.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Leading technical design of structures from concept through to detailed design ensuring technical excellence, always maintaining outstanding levels of client service.
- Carrying out onsite supervision and quality assurance
- Supporting leadership and development of the team of Structural Engineers.
- Facilitating local and international collaboration across disciplines
- Representing Ramboll at conferences and other events showcasing our work to raise the profile of the team.
- Take an active role in technical groups and team meetings to support continuous improvement.
- Implement best practice procedures to enhance and maintain delivery of sustainable, zero carbon, innovative and quality advisory and design services.
- Supporting the use of digital tools.
- Acting as a mentor for less experienced colleagues.
- Participating in in bids and tenders.
Your new team
You will become a part of our global spearhead, High Rise & Complex Buildings, situated in our Buildings market. We are responsible for all Ramboll projects greater than 70m tall and all buildings with a complex architecture. We have extensive global experience in project delivery from the initial concept phase to final completion and handover.
We are based in the Ramboll HQ in Ørestaden in Copenhagen but are involved in projects across the world. Examples of projects include: Bella Sky (Denmark), Lighthouse 2.0 (Denmark), Mindet 6 (Denmark), 2 Finsbury Avenue (UK), City Life (Italy), Marmormolen (Denmark), and Kaj 16 (Sweden).

About you

Whilst we look forward to supporting your continued learning and development, for this role we have identified some qualifications, skills, and capabilities that will set you up for success. These include:
- Minimum 10+ years of experience with design of complex structures using European codes of practice. Knowledge of Danish building projects is an advantage.
- Experience and/or knowledge and interest in tall and complex building constructions.
- Ability to develop practical solutions which contribute to the project vision.
- International mindset and an ability to drive collaboration across construction disciplines, both within Ramboll and externally.
- Good communication skills in English. Proficiency in Danish is beneficial but not mandatory.
This position is based in Copenhagen, but we welcome applicants who are not currently located here and wiling to relocate for this exciting opportunity to join our team.
