As Manager, Category Merchandising, you will be responsible for driving the long-term strategy key growth categories, including Pop Yourself, Blind Box Collectibles, and Collectible Plush. Reporting directly to the Director, Category Merchandising, you will play an integral role in determining product assortment, flow planning, IP selection, and driving innovation. You will work cross-functionally with Fan Merchandising, Planning, Finance, Creative, Sales, and DTC

- Perform Consumer & Retail Analysis: Identify the most suitable channels for a product based on factors like target audience, product characteristics, and competitive landscape.
- Determine Product Mix: Determine the optimal mix of products and items while considering factors such as product variety, pricing, packaging, and branding
- Manage Product Life Cycle: Manage the life cycle of products, from introduction to decline, by adjusting product offerings, pricing, and promotion strategies to maximize revenue & profitability.
- Spur Innovation: You will identify white space opportunities within each category and partner closely with the Funko Creative team to develop new products that delight fans and drive revenue.
- Analytics & Reporting: You will actively manage the status and performance of all skus with your category, from development stage through marketplace inventory levels, while regularly communicating with key partners to inform day to day business decisions.
What You’ll Bring
- 10+ years of product line management or assortment planning experience – you have experience working for a company that produces and sells its products via DTC and Wholesale and have demonstrated a history of increasing scope and responsibility. You know how to take a line plan and shape it into a fan-focused business plan because you’ve done it before and know what it takes to win.
- Capability building and change management experience: you understand how to design new ways of working and bring your team and cross-functional partners along the change journey.
- Executive-level communication skills – you are able to build presentations and pitch your ideas to everyone from wholesale buyers to DMMs to internal stakeholders and beyond.
- Strong analytical abilities – you can learn systems, pull raw data, and manipulate the output into cogent, consumable analysis in Excel that generates actionable insights that can be shared across the enterprise.
- Communication through stories – you know how to simplify the complex and influence without authority to deliver against your vision and strategy and yes, use PowerPoint to convey your message.
- Growth mindset – you believe in the art of the possible and are driven to leap past compromise into win-win-win recommendations and strategies for fans, customers, and the Funko brand.
- World-class organizational skills – with thousands of new items dropping every year and dozens of planning milestones spanning multiple seasons at a time, you have the ability to stay on-time and on task to drive results for the business.
