Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Orthopedic Trauma Surgery

Provides Orthopedic Trauma Surgery care to patients acting as an assistant to physicians in the clinic following established standards and practices with minimal supervision. Physician Assistant will be responsible in partnering with Trauma Surgeons in the triage and evaluation of patients in the hospital and in the clinic. In the hospital, ordering of diagnostic imaging, medications, and posting for surgery is expected while on call. In the clinic, physician assistant will perform evaluations, co-plan with treatment plans, and carryout appropriate plan.
Job Requirements: 6 days of 24 hour call per month with Attending Physician and 3 days of clinic
Job Details: Duration Fulltime, No required travel except to and from work
MIN Education: is a BA/BS/Undergraduate with appropriate certifications.
Minimal experience is ok but Orthopedic experience is preferred
Salary: $140K base + Call Pay, experience is considered

Preferred Qualifications:
- Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program or successful completion of an approved Physician Assistant program
- Texas Registered Nurse license AND Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse recognition through Texas Board of Nursing or Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Designation or Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
- 3 years Professional nursing experience in a clinic setting or 3 years Professional physician assistance experience in a clinic setting.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
