Job Summary:
Regis University School of Pharmacy (RUSOP) invites applications for the position of Chair, Department of Pharmacy Practice (DPP). The position includes an appointment as Associate Professor or Professor. This is a full-time, 12-month faculty appointment responsible for providing leadership, direction, and oversight to the department’s academic, clinical, and scholarly activities. The Chair fosters an environment of academic excellence, collaboration, and innovation consistent with the mission and Jesuit values of Regis University.The Chair will promote faculty development, excellence in teaching and scholarship, and collaboration across departments and health professions within the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions (RHCHP). The Chair plays a vital role in advancing the strategic priorities of the School, including accreditation, curriculum development, community engagement, and student success.
Regis University is a nationally recognized Jesuit Catholic university located in the heart of Denver, Colorado. Regis University is comprised of three colleges including the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions (RHCHP) which houses the School of Pharmacy. RHCHP includes the following programs: Division of Counseling and Family Therapy, Loretto Heights School of Nursing, and the School of Physical Therapy. This offers excellent opportunities for both collaboration and interprofessional education.
RUSOP has a traditional 4-year PharmD pathway and an accelerated 3-year PharmD pathway. RUSOP is a leader in active learning, combining our highly integrated curriculum with a team-taught approach via Team-Based Learning™ (TBL). RUSOP provides a collaborative learning environment that prepares students to become an integral part of a health care team with access to hands-on opportunities via laboratory skills development, patient simulation, and experiential education. Regis emphasizes excellent teaching, values-based education, clinical expertise, service learning, and scholarship.
The School of Pharmacy has been fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education since 2013 with most recent renewal in 2019. In addition, the School of Pharmacy has overall program averages for both the NAPLEX and postgraduate residency placement exceeding the national average.
This position has a salary range of $127,800 - $145,800 plus an annual stipend of $4,200 for serving as Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice ($132,00 to $150,000 total). If the position is filled at the Associate Professor level, the salary will be $127,800 - $135,800 plus the stipend ($132,000 - $140,000 total). If the position is filled at the Professor level, the salary will be $137,800 - $145,800 plus the stipend ($142,000 - $150,000 total).
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
Administrative
Provide academic and administrative leadership for the Department of Pharmacy Practice, ensuring Department excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
Support faculty and staff development through mentorship, evaluation, and promotion of scholarly and professional growth, ensuring equitable workload allocation and alignment with annual performance evaluations.
Support faculty in developing and sustaining experiential practice sites where they can precept students and integrate clinical teaching into their scholarly and service activities.
Collaborate with the Dean and RUSOP Executive Committee (EC) to ensure accreditation compliance, curricular innovation, and resource management.
Foster interprofessional education and partnerships with RHCHP and with external healthcare and community organizations.

Engage in teaching, scholarship, and service consistent with the area of expertise
Working Conditions:
Monday-Friday, approximately 8:30am - 5:00pm
Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for meetings, events, or additional responsibilities as assigned.
Primary Work Location: Main NW Denver Campus
Requires standing for extended periods during classroom or laboratory instruction.
