The Town of Erie’s Utilities Department is seeking a dependable, skilled, and motivated Distribution & Collection (D&C) Maintenance Technician to join our hardworking team.
In this vital role, you’ll help maintain and improve the critical infrastructure that keeps our town’s distribution system, wastewater collection system, right of ways, and other Town infrastructure operating safely and efficiently. Whether it’s inspecting lift stations, or repairing a broken water main, your work will make a meaningful difference — and every day will offer something new.

Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00AM – 3:30PM

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Advanced, additional duties exist for the Level II & III positions):
Essential
- Assists, performs and/or directs a variety of routine to complex maintenance and construction activities to include sanitary sewer jetting, manhole maintenance and inspection, storm water system maintenance (as needed), hydrant flushing and maintenance, repair water, sewer, and storm lines, valve exercising and maintenance, PRV inspections and maintenance, monitoring lift stations, and CCTV inspections of the utility system.
- Installs and maintains a variety of specialized and complex equipment related to distribution, collection, and performs light mechanical repair and maintenance.
- Operates heavy and light duty equipment to perform related maintenance and construction assignments.
