Position Summary & Objective

This role is responsible for defining and delivering product strategy across the full product lifecycle to address core strategic customer segments, such as sports, apparel and licensing. It is responsible for product strategy, development and implementation within OpSec Security’s authentication business, focused on key strategic customer segments. From identifying current and emerging customer/market requirements to creating a business case for brand-centric holographic labels and hangtags, launching sports-centric digital print solutions, or designing the next big technology for brands, this is a varied role, with accountability for end-to-end product lifecycle management. This includes designing and undertaking customer discovery programs to assess current and future market requirements, shepherding product concepts through an NPI process with appropriate business case projections, defining strategic product and service roadmaps, driving go-to-market strategy including designing and deploying appropriate product pricing and service models, managing new product and service launches, and creating competitive and customer segmentation strategy. This is a matrixed organization, requiring collaboration with a wider product management team. While this role is anticipated to be predominantly focused on the authentication portfolio, the ability to work across the full organization – from online to on-product technologies is key.

 

Essential Functions Performed by the Position

Acting as the conduit between customers, the business, product management & technology teams, responsibilities will include:

  • Accountability for the success of the authentication product portfolio within key strategic segments
  • Performing win/loss analysis to understand why we’re winning or losing in to inform product planning
  • Assessing, defining and delivering on a new competitive strategy and new commercial models for products (pricing, packaging, positioning and full go-to-market strategy)
  • Defining and delivering new product/technology requirements, from OVD labels to digitally printed hangtags and beyond, and driving them through a development cycle
  • Creating appropriate business plans to drive internal investment decisions
  • Collaborating with other product managers to define and deliver strategic roadmap items
  • Managing product launch processes in conjunction with marketing, operations, technology, R&D, engineering and other key stakeholders
  • Setting, measuring and meeting appropriate product and launch KPIs
  • Driving strategic product integration between online and on-product business lines
  • Contributing to corporate-level strategic planning exercising and leading sub-workstreams
  • Owning the development and launch of complex programs or work, spanning multiple internal and external stakeholders, sometimes covering both physical and digital technologies, from concept to delivery

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Adept at rapidly assessing a physical product proposition, positioning, packaging and pricing.
  • Detailed knowledge of working with technical products and stakeholders across physical products will be critical.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver strategic planning including rapidly assessing “as is” environment and defining and delivering towards a future-state product strategy.
  • Strong ability to rapidly assess competitive position and drive associated planning and delivery.
  • Strong collaborator, able to achieve product objectives through working with wide-reaching internal stakeholders, from technology teams to marketing and sales.
  • Proven ability to work across a global landscape of customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization, alongside dedicated product managers at multiple levels

 

Required Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or relevant experience.
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in an executive-level product manager role
  • Proven experience of rapid assessment and deployment of product strategy, including product packaging and pricing and competitive posit
